Gisnep
What is Gisnep?
Gisnep is a crossword-sudoku fusion where you try to solve for a quote by reasoning about available letters.
Each column in the crossword has available letters that are consumed when they are used. Players must combine the letters, plus clues about the quote source, to solve the puzzle.
Thoughts on gameplay
I found Gisnep to be very difficult at first, but now I'm able to solve puzzles in under 10 minutes fairly reliably.
Getting good at the game requires reasoning about possible words, (e.g. what possible two-letter and three-letter words are), eliminating the obvious letters, and then making good guesses about what longer words might be.
What makes Gisnep fun
Gisnep is a really fun logical reasoning game, and I always enjoy learning about the quote and quote source after solving the puzzle.
It also has the very satisfying quality of making you switch between deductive reasoning (e.g. what could the two letter words be) and more loosely-held, vibey guesses about what the longer words and quote might be.
