Infinite Craft
What is Infinite Craft
Infinite Craft is a creative sandbox game in which players combine different objects or concepts to create new ones.
Players start with the four classical elements – earth, wind, fire, and water. They can combine those elements, plus new ones of their own creation, to produce thousands (if not tens of thousands) of new outputs.
Thoughts on gameplay
There isn't a correct way to play Infinite Craft, but the game is hilarious, fun, and highly conceptual. The game is also an impressive and creative application of LLMs.
Some players put an emphasis on new discoveries, which are novel outputs produced by the player. Those outputs become available to other players across the world.
The core mechanic of combinatorial discovery is such a good one that, despite the game being around for some time, players continue playing, contributing new discoveries, and sharing funny recipes and outputs.
What makes it fun
Infinite Craft, in the opinion of this author, is best enjoyed as a casual, exploratory experience with friends.
The recipes and outputs can be logical, surprising, hilarious, cheeky, and often a mix of the above.
Like many of the other games I'm so fond of, aside from being fun, the game is a lovely piece of art and incredibly clever concept. Highly recommend.
