What is Wordle?

Wordle is a daily word puzzle where you try to guess a secret 5-letter word.

Each guess indicates which letters are correct and in the right position, and what letters are somewhere in the word but in the wrong position.

You have six guesses to get the secret word, or you lose.

Wordle is simple, fast, and easy to pick up.

I think Wordle shines as a single-player experience, but it can be nice in a group, too.

It also shines as a casual game, but tends to be on the easy side for experienced word-game players.

More challenging Wordle variants like Quordle and Octordle are even better in a group, where every guess is a higher-stakes proposition. Or, you could try Guessticle, which shares some of the same mechanics as Wordle but is a competitive multiplayer game.

What makes it fun

Wordle is fun as a calm, casual gameplay experience.

It has a minimal, simple vibe – easy to follow rules, no timer, and a clutter-free interface. It feels good to play.

If you're an experienced gamer, I'd recommend checking out some Wordle-like games, but if you haven't played the classic Wordle, it's definitely worth checking out.
